Get to know who's who at the ATX Web Fest

Austin WebFest (AWF) is an LLC organization that provides a venue for international film artist to compete against one another in a friendly atmosphere, while showcasing their web series.

The Director of Austin WebFest is uniquely qualified to run this project, which he has developed since inception. Eric has an Associates of Applied Science in Graphic Design. Most recent awards are “Lead Actor in a Drama” LaWeb Fest 2012, “Outstanding Achievement for Editing in a Drama” LAWeb Fest 2012, both for a web series called “Red Rover” Co-Created, Co-Written and Produced by Eric Robbins and his production company Barker Films. Eric also won an award of Merit at Indie Fest in 2012 for Acting in and Producing Red Rover. Eric has been in several web series as well as feature films and shorts. Austin Webfest is blessed to announce our affiliation with Marseille WebFest! We are also fortunate to have the Creator of Marseille Web Fest, Jean Michel Albert, on our Advisory Board and Marseille WebFest as a partner of Austin WebFest. Marseille WebFest is Europes First Digital Series Festival in Europe. It began in 2011 and is growing annually.



RP HalkeRP Halke / WRITER / PRODUCER / EDUCATOR

A standup comedian since the age of 15, R.P.’s first sitcom writing jobs were on the staffs of ABC’s “Step By Step” and FOX’s “Misery Loves Company.” A sought after punch-up writer with an immense knowledge of comedy history, he has written or consulted on a wide range of film, television, advertising, animation, interactive, and multi-platform projects for the likes of Jennie Garth, Kelsey Grammer, Kathy Bates, Sherman Hemsley, Louie Anderson, ABC Family, NBC, The Disney Channel, Disney.com, Fandango.com, FOX, and The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He has consulted/lectured/served on panels for The Broadcast Education Association, Digital Hollywood, The Warner Bros. Writers Workshop, USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, The University of Miami Film Department, and he’s been quoted by multiple news sources, including The Wall Street Journal. He is also a founding board member of The Los Angeles Web Series Festival and serves on the advisory boards of The Marseille Webfest and The Austin Webfest

Joel BassagetJoel Bassaget / WRITER / EDUCATOR

Lives in Berlin and has been writing scripts for television since 1990. Passionate about new formats and independent production, he created the blog "Web Series Mag" on the French newspaper Liberation website to review the web fictions of the whole world. Also a consultant, he observes, analyzes, criticizes, studies and catalogs this particular format, offering his expertise to online broadcasters and content producers. He regularly gives lectures on webseries. In 2015, he founded the Web Series World Cup and created a think-tank bringing together web series creators.

Réside à Berlin et écrit des scénarios pour la télévision depuis 1990. Passionné par les nouvelles écritures et la production indépendante, il a créé le blog « Web Séries Mag » sur le site du journal Libération pour chroniquer les web-fictions du monde entier. Également consultant, il observe, analyse, critique, étudie et catalogue ce format particulier, offrant son expertise aux diffuseurs et producteurs de contenus en ligne. Auteur d’articles, d’études et dun « Guide des Webséries » (éditions Over the Pop / 2016), il donne régulièrement des conférences sur les webséries. En 2015, il a fondé la Web Series World Cup et créé un groupe de réflexion regroupant les créateurs francophones.
